My Bumpy Yet Satisfying Project
It’s the sixth week of my software engineering boot camp and our front end project was due on that Friday. We got our last requirement's for the project that Monday and it was time to get to work. On the first day of my bumpy yet satisfying project I came in with a sense of calm. Maybe I was just pretending to be calm but by the end of the first day I had a piece of my Api tested and my pages layouts basically finished so I felt a sense of satisfaction in just being able to do that and not have it take days. What I didn’t realize is how much of a headache it would be working with frameworks the next day.
The moment I began working on my project the next day I decided to implement one of the requirements for the project which was to use a framework. I decided to use bootstrap since it is the only one I am partially familiar with and I don’t have a ton of experience with frameworks. After about two hours of wrestling with different layout’s and content I decided to just add a button. With none of my content even on the page yet I felt I couldn’t spend any more hours figuring out bootstrap. Then came my third day problem which happened to be Api issues.
For some reason when I would try to gather images and not statistics from the Api I was using I would run into many errors or the image would not load all together. So I ended up having to use three different Apis and change the concept of my project partially. With all that being said now that I am on day four and tweaking some things I can honestly say I did the best I could with the bumps in the road. What’s satisfying is knowing that as I put in more work these bumps will disappear and the road will get a little smoother.
